Join us

Already running an AllSky camera? Join our network! Share your images with the community and use the data together — for citizen science, school projects, or simply for wonder.

What do you get when you participate?

You are not just providing data – you gain access to a complete infrastructure, automatic processing, and a platform for your camera.

Automatic server services

The server automatically generates additional products from your uploads – with no extra load on your Raspberry Pi.

  • Keograms & star trails (fully automated)
  • Night and timelapse videos
  • Long-term keograms (monthly and long-term overviews)
  • Seasonal video (daily images combined over a full year)
  • Archive and fast previews via the website

Easy integration into your own website

You can embed live images, latest videos, and analyses via stable links and proxies – without running your own server infrastructure.

Sensors & live data

Sensor data (temperature, humidity, SQM, clouds, etc.) can be stored centrally and displayed as charts – ideal for comparisons and citizen science.

More visibility for your location

Your camera gets its own public page in the network – increased reach, better discoverability, and shared storytelling during events like auroras, meteors, or special weather conditions.

How participation works

You are part of the network in just three steps – and the services run automatically.

1) Request a secret key
Fill out a short form – we will get back to you with your key.
2) Enable uploads
Enter the key, run a test, and you are ready to go.
3) Online in the network
Your camera page goes live and evaluations are generated automatically.
Note: Available products depend on your uploads (images/videos) and optional sensor equipment.

Who can join?

Your Raspberry-Pi-based AllSkyCamera

Ideally a Raspberry Pi 4 or 5 with the HQ Camera – older models are welcome too.

Stable internet & enthusiasm

Keep the camera online – and enjoy being part of a growing citizen-science network.

Why join?

Contribute to real science

Your camera provides valuable data on sky brightness, weather, aurora and meteor activity – used in genuine research.

Support STEM education

Schools and workshops use your images to teach astronomy and environmental awareness with real data.

Share observations, join the community

Compare results, analyse meteor showers together and connect with like-minded sky enthusiasts.

Be part of the digital sky

Each camera adds a piece to the European sky mosaic — you help map the heavens.

Support the MINT network – no bureaucracy involved

Running the servers, developing new analyses, and maintaining the community requires time and resources. If you like the project, you can support it voluntarily – transparently and without obligations.
